100 Lines extracted once more and we finally hit the 4000 goal! From this point on, extraction of text will be slowed and we will commence trying to translate most of it. When we get around

1000 lines done, we will attempt (thats a big attempt) to try and get the text back in (which wont work probably) so if anyone can help, thanks in advance, you can contact me at my email address :)

I put up another poll to ask you all if you want to have the honorifics (endings to names like Kyouko-sensei, Kyouko-san, Kyouko-sama etc) removed or left alone to leave the originality with the game. Personally I was going to leave them because of the originality factor but then again I am making the game for the crowd who wants the translation, so answer away to what you want^^

Yeah sorry for no update today but I was just really tired when I got home from work (not from a desk job but actual work ie. Not pushing pencils all day XD)

btw, I started translating a manga as a little funtime side project with the translation team on the site im mostly at. The manga is called Super Mario-Kun and is at sakurahana.com on the forum. Take a look if you wanna see the translation of the first chapter. The translation team is Hidoi~! Translations if you wanted to know also.

Leaving a comment about the translation of the manga would also be nice for feedback ^^ (use the thread on Sakurahana for commenting)

By the way after we hit 4000 we will be putting extraction as a lower priority, and actually start translating most of the script. When we get about maybe 100 lines done, we will try to make a patch although I bet it will fail as I can't think of a way to make a script inserter/extractor from this game. (again if anyone could make one for us, that would be great and you would have my everlasting thanks). Even so if we cant get the text in, then we will just keep going onwards with translation until i find a way to get it in (which on my programming level would take around a long time to accomplish) Even so, any assistance is accepted and any tools offered to aid will be accepted. I want to make this game for the community so why not get a little aid from the community ^_^

This one in my opinion was a lucky one to pull off, I may have dozed off about 4 - 6 times due to sleepyness (pulled this out at 2AM when I didn't sleep the day before). Well anyway I guess I can explain how I came to this day to translate an H game. I shall go in timeline.

Just got computer > Very beginner at it > Became more advanced in 2 weeks > Played my first game on it (an FPS you may call Halo, anyone ?) > Got madly badass at Halo > Started modding maps for Halo PC > Kept madly playing > Slowly losing interest > Modded the GUI of Halo > Stopped Halo for a while > Did nothing except chat on MSN and read manga for a while > Played halo a bit more > Got Counter-Strike Source and Half Life 2 > Never played CSS for a while but loved HL2 > Bought Garry's Mod 10 (Seriously the best physics sandbox ever using the source engine) > Toyed with that for a few days > Watched my first anime Elfen Lied (Seriously awesomely badass) > Got sucked into anime (as I was already a Japan culture addict etc ever since I was 6). > Kept watching anime, preferable edgin to ecchi/comedy > Toned down watching anime and got a life for a bit > Started sketching anime in doodles when I was bored in school > Watched my first H-anime (forgot the title) > Stumbled apon the sakurahana.com community > Absolutely love the community (thats where more advanced info of the h game translation is before I started this blog btw) > Stated I was going to translate Zansho > Present Time

Chihiro Subs (They = badass) - For subbing some badass animes that I watched when I got frustrated at some points when getting script out. (I don't care if you say they do crap subs they still are filled with awesomeness).

The Community - Honestly if none of you were here, why would I be making this translation? You guys are basically the main backbone to the project other than me and the team because you are supporting us from the backlines rooting for use to go further. At sometime you guys throw criticism to help us in a manner of speaking and at other times you aid us in someway.

All of these awesome people and that awesome group deserve a round of applause for helping me to actually get this far without giving up. I really couldn't have done it without you all.

Just because I was annoyed on how the link to the forum of this translation project wasn't url tagged in the about me section, I added a link list above the About Me section on this blog and added the link to the forum under the name "The Forum" this makes it so you don't have to copy & paste the link into the address bar just to get to the forum. Yeah sorry about not updating script extraction for a few days, I really have to stop getting hooked on manga and anime (anime especially) I was catching up in the series of To Love Ru, Sekirei (Chihiro Fansubs is awesome for subbing it), Kanokon, Clannad and Code Geass.

Well anyhow hopefully I'll extract more script tomorrow

Well, I did it, I put a forum up, a crappy Proboards one but it's better than nothing, It's not much now but I'll fix it up sometime today or tomorrow to make it look spiffy. If anyone can seriously help with script dumping here (either by making a program to dump script that I can use or anything to help). That would seriously be a big help for me instead of using Hex Workshop a lot(I'm getting really tired of using it). So if you can offer any help or give me advice on how to directly dump from a .war file, then please contact me on my msn (mathew1900@hotmail.com keep tech talk to a minimum I can't stress this enough. I may be pretty advanced but I can't handle some stuff you might say, word it so any normal advanced person can read it).

If anything the best I can tell you is that the Header for the .war files is this : WARC 1.73 : so that leads me to believe it's some sort of archiving file in version 1.73

Alright well I said I would put the project on hold till September, well it turns out we aren't going on many vacations during the year before my grade 9 semester starts. Anyhow due to that, I'm coming back to do the extraction but I wont be completely active on it till September, you may get the occasional update a day but usually on average it will usually just be 100 lines per day or less, when it hits September I'll try to pick the pace up a bit so much that i get roughly 300 lines or more a day.

As a bonus, I'll try to get a few BGM's from the game up so you can see how awesome the sounds in the game are.

Some of you may have asked, "Why do a game no ones heard of?" or "Why do this period?" or if you have no sense of life you may have asked "Why are tires round?"

Well first off, I started this originally as a fun time project, but now that I got more into the game it's now a sort of fun/serious project.

Now about the first beta patch; everything will be public because no point in doing a private beta if it means inhibiting other people to enjoy an English beta. Also, I'm gonna mix a bit of stuff up too, unlike many (I mean MANY) translation groups which only release like maybe 4 or 3 beta patches then make you wait a loooooooooong time after the final beta patch. I'd like to say there's no way in damn hell that I'd do that. Basically the patch is gonna be in beta till it releases as a complete translation so that people can continually progress through the story (via nightly builds of the patch or ill make a new patch every second day) without having to get so anticipated up until the release. This way it makes it more enjoyable and convenient for everyone who wants to play the game in English.

Due to one of the people that translates the text having exams all week, translation has ceased for the week, so most of the updates that week will only include script extraction information.

Also script extraction may be slowed as well because I'm gonna be trying out the Mac OSX 10.5.1 just so I can see if it has any features that may actually assist with the translation ( I heard it has a kickass hex editor). By the way for those who don't know, I use a hex editor to extract script.
